Who this is for: NDIS participants, families and carers who pay for supports from their plan, and support coordinators who help them.
What is the NDIS annual pricing review?
Each year, the NDIA reviews NDIS prices to see whether any changes should be considered. This is the annual pricing review (APR). The NDIA says it looks at things like:
- supply and demand in the market
- prices in other markets
- wage rates and labour conditions
- broader economic factors.
What's new this year: new NDIS laws, the Securing the NDIS for Future Generations Act 2026, give the Minister for Disability and the NDIS the power to make a pricing determination. The NDIA says the APR is how it forms its advice to the Minister.

What's being reviewed this year?
The NDIA says this year's review focuses on:
- Therapy supports, including the Therapy Pricing Review
- Disability Support Worker (DSW) related supports, including a review of the DSW Cost Model
- Supported Independent Living (SIL), including the SIL Pricing Review
- Social and Community Participation
- Support Coordination
- Plan Management
The participant consultation focused on DSW-related supports, SIL and therapy supports.
What did the participant survey ask?
The NDIA's participant consultation paper listed the questions. Some examples:
- Support workers: what matters more to you, having your preferred worker or always having a worker available?
- Registered or unregistered: the paper said the NDIA is considering letting registered providers of assisted daily living charge more than unregistered providers. It asked which you'd choose, and what price difference would change your mind.
- Therapy sessions: how long your sessions run, and how much time you're charged for (which can include travel and report writing).
- Extra charges: whether travel, cancellation or report-writing charges concern you.
- Your bills: how clearly your therapist explains what's in their bill, and whether you're comfortable with your service agreement.
- SIL: whether the support you get matches your plan and roster.
Most questions were multiple choice, and some let you add a short written answer.
Can you still have your say?
No. Submissions closed on 1 November 2026. While the consultation was open, people could complete the participant survey (with Easy Read and Auslan versions), send a written or video response, or email APR@ndis.gov.au. The consultation papers are still on the NDIS Engage page: Annual Pricing Review for 2027-28 prices.
What happens after the consultation?
According to the NDIA's terms of reference (September 2026):
- April 2027 (to be determined): findings and recommendations announced
- From 1 July 2027: recommendations put in place, through the pricing determination that sets prices from that date.
As at 2 November 2026, the NDIA had not published a different date. The NDIA says it will publish how feedback informed this year's findings. The SIL and Therapy Pricing Reviews will run longer, with their own consultation papers in late 2026 and submissions closing in early 2027.
Does this change my NDIS prices now?
No. Current maximum prices are set in the pricing schedules that followed the Minister's pricing determination. The NDIA says participants and providers don't need to do anything about those schedules.
One separate change is coming sooner: maximum prices for four NDIS support items, including house cleaning and house or yard maintenance, go up from 1 December 2026. Read what the 1 December price rise means for your plan.
