How do I track my NDIS budget?
Track your NDIS budget by checking your remaining funds by category through the myplace portal, your plan manager's portal, or plan statements, and comparing spend-to-date against how far you are through your plan. Do this at least monthly rather than waiting for a plan review.
The calculator above can give you a quick, indicative sense of your weekly spending pace using figures you enter yourself. For the exact, up-to-date figures, your myplace portal or your plan manager's statements remain the source of truth.
Exception: if you're plan-managed, ask your plan manager how often statements are issued and whether you have self-serve portal access — this affects how often you can realistically check.

The most accurate figure comes from your myplace participant portal or your plan manager's statements, which show committed and paid amounts per category. This calculator gives an indicative estimate only, based on the figures you enter, not your official plan balance.

Qualification: committed but unpaid amounts (services booked but not yet invoiced) may not show consistently across every view, so figures can differ slightly between sources.

What should I do if my NDIS budget is running out early?
If a category is running out early, first confirm the real balance with your plan manager or the myplace portal, then review what's been claimed against it for errors. If spending is genuinely on track to run out, you can discuss reallocating funds where the rules allow, or raise it at your next plan review.
A "🔴 Alert" result from the health check above is a prompt to look closer, not a confirmed shortfall — always verify against your actual statements before making changes to your supports.
Exception: some categories, such as Capital Supports, aren't meant to be spent evenly over the plan and may show as "ahead of pace" without being a problem.
